Why go to Jaipur

• Amber Fort

Good to know in Jaipur

• Transit: Auto-rickshaws are everywhere, always agree on a price before you get in, or insist on the meter; app-based Ola and Rapido are cheaper and transparent for longer trips.
• Tipping: Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory, rounding up a restaurant bill or leaving 20-50 rupees ($0.25-0.60) for good service is perfectly appropriate.
• Tap water: Do not drink tap water under any circumstances; buy sealed 1-liter bottles for about $0.25 or carry a filtered bottle to save plastic and money.
• Free-entry days: Indian nationals get free entry to many ASI monuments on Fridays, but foreign visitors do not, however, the combined Jaipur composite ticket (~$17) covers six major sites and saves money versus paying individually.
