Seville

Seville is Andalusia's passionate, sun-drenched capital where flamenco, Moorish palaces, and tapas culture collide at remarkably low prices. Compared to Madrid or Barcelona, your euro stretches dramatically further while the experiences rival anywhere in Europe.

Why go to Seville

  • Real Alcázar

A UNESCO-listed royal palace of breathtaking Mudéjar tilework and lush gardens that inspired Game of Thrones.

  • Seville Cathedral & La Giralda

The world's largest Gothic cathedral crowned by a Moorish minaret tower with panoramic city views.

  • Barrio Santa Cruz

A labyrinth of whitewashed alleys, orange trees, and hidden plazas that is the beating heart of old Seville.

  • Plaza de España

A jaw-dropping semi-circular baroque masterpiece with colorful tiled alcoves representing every Spanish province.

  • Flamenco Live Show

Raw, foot-stomping tablao performances in intimate venues that will give you chills for days.

Good to know in Seville

  • Transit: The city center is extremely walkable; use the TUSSAM bus network for $1.40 per ride or buy a rechargeable Tarjeta Multiviaje card for discounted trips, taxis are cheap but rarely needed.
  • Tipping: Not expected the way it is in the US, rounding up or leaving small coins (€0.50-€1) for a full meal is perfectly generous and locals do the same.
  • Tap water: Completely safe to drink throughout Seville; always ask for 'agua del grifo' at restaurants to avoid paying €2+ for bottled water.
  • Free-entry days: The Real Alcázar is free to EU citizens on Monday mornings; Seville Cathedral offers free entry Monday-Saturday 4:30-6 PM for worshippers, arrive with purpose and explore respectfully.
